The Platte Canyon Health Service is Back for Round Two...or Three.

The Platte Canyon Health District Committee is back again with a third attempt to pass a 1% sales tax on "discretionary" items to fund a health service district in the Platte Canyon area (see Exhibit A).
The discretionary items taxed for the health service district include diapers, soap, paper products, household supplies, over the counter medications. This sales tax also impacts online purchases, internet/land line, and cellular phone services.
Here are the files requested by a concerned citizen from the county including a budget showing an unspent fund balance of almost $1.5 million dollars by the end of 2027 (see Exhibit B).
The Park County BOCC hearing will be held Wednesday May 14, 2025 3 pm.
